Dustin Harris
South Boulevard Metra/CTA underpass at Chicago Avenue

This mural by Evanston artist Dustin Harris was originally painted in 2018, but was given a much-needed refresh and design update in 2023. The project was planned in partnership with 9th ward council member Cecily Fleming to bring vitality to the district.

Cheri Lee Charlton
Alcott Elementary, 2625 North Orchard Street, Chicago

We expanded the reach of EMAP outside of Evanston in 2023 with this indoor mural designed and painted by Cheri Lee Charlton and 8th graders from Alcott Elementary in Chicago. The resulting floral piece, which centers around the school’s cultivation and care for their native garden, served as the students’ graduation gift to the school.

Damon Lamar Reed
Dawes Elementary School, 440 Dodge Avenue

Chicago artist Damon Lamar Reed worked with students from Dawes Elementary School to create this mural depicting the schools values, which are expressed through the acronym RISE: Respect, Integrity, Self Awareness, and Empathy.

Jess Patterson
Dawes Elementary School, 440 Dodge Avenue

These four portraits by Chicago artist Jess Patterson pay tribute to four influential agriculturalists of the land we now call America: George Washington Carver, Delores Huerta, Cesar Chavez, and Waheenee. They are displayed outside of the Dawes Elementary School garden.

This Metra underpass wall on Church Street, which was originally painted by Jeff Zimmermann in 2018 with support from Downtown Evanston, was restored with a fresh, updated design in 2023. This mural is located opposite Anthony Lewellen’s colorful 2018 EMAP mural.
