Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater

Pittsburgh: Featuring the 58th Carnegie International and Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12–SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2022
PRICE: $3250* per person double occupancy

Join Joanna Pinsky, Art Encounter’s Artistic Director and Co-founder, on an exclusive tour of this culturally rich city and home to one of the art world’s most important exhibitions. Established in 1896, the Carnegie International is the longest-running North American exhibition of international art, second globally only to the Venice Biennale. Selected by a team of leading curators from around the world, the exhibit stimulates discussion of art and its relationship to world events. Organized every three to four years by the Carnegie Museum of Art, the International presents an overview of how art and artists respond to the critical questions of our time. Discover work in every medium by the “hottest” emerging artists along with art by internationally acclaimed established artists who transform galleries within the Carnegie Museum as well as public spaces in different Pittsburgh neighborhoods.

Engage with artists in their studios to get an inside view of the Pittsburgh art scene. Enjoy the spectacular autumnal views of western PA on our architectural day trip to tour Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece, Fallingwater, and his nearby Kentuck Knob Usonian House and sculpture garden. Our trip includes visits to the Andy Warhol Museum, The Frick Pittsburg Museum and Estate, and fine dining.

Trip is limited to 16 fully-vaccinated participants. You must be a current member of Art Encounter to participate.

Cost includes four nights hotel accommodations: three dinners, two lunches, three breakfasts, and one brunch; transportation by motor coach; expert guides; all museum entrance fees and special tours. Does not include airfare, transfers to hotel, porter tips, alcohol, or incidental room charges.

A $600 deposit is required to reserve your spot. Deposit must be paid prior to June 30, 2022. Please contact sarah@artencounter.org with any questions.
